According to statistics from the British media footballblog, since the Premier League in 1992, the six major clubs have paid a staggering 379.85 million pounds in compensation for the dismissal of 55 head coaches.
Chelsea is the number one player in this "money-burning" competition. According to official accounts, the club paid a record £26.6 million to sack Conte and his team in 2018, of which Conte himself received around £10 million. In total, Chelsea's 17 dismissals cost an average of 9.21 million pounds each, making it the club that has fired the most coaches among the six giants.

Personally speaking, Mourinho is the head coach who caused the most "bloody wallets" to his former clubs. His four sackings in the Premier League (two at Chelsea, once at Manchester United and once at Tottenham) cost the three clubs a combined £62m. Of this, Manchester United paid £19.6 million to sack him in 2018, while Chelsea spent £23.1 million when they first parted with him in 2007.
Looking at the average cost per dismissal, Manchester United tops the list with 10.48 million pounds, while Manchester City's 2.69 million pounds is the lowest. Total spending by Liverpool and Tottenham reached £50.8 million and £66.5 million respectively. It is worth mentioning that Arsenal are the giants that have fired the fewest coaches (4 times). However, when they "peacefully broke up" with Wenger in 2018, they also paid a fee of up to 17.1 million pounds. Wenger later revealed that "that time was not my own decision."
Of the 18 cases in which dismissal costs exceeded £10 million, eight were made by Chelsea, which further highlights their huge investment in coaching changes.
