The Daily Mail reported that Burnley's lawsuit against Everton would not appear to be a quick conclusion unless the parties can reach a settlement.

Burnley is claiming about £50 million from the Toffees, due to the club's relegation from the Premier League in 2022. The following year, Everton was deducted 10 points for violating the profit and sustainability rules in a three-year period including the 21-22 season, and was reduced to 6 points after appeal.

Burnley's side advocated at the London International Dispute Resolution Centre that if the violation occurs, it would have been punished and that it should have been able to maintain its Premier League seat and thus obtain relevant economic benefits to stay in the top league.

According to the Post, the trial of this case is expected to be completed until mid-October, and the time for subsequent ruling has not yet been clarified.
