Former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward "Little Pea" Hernandez posted a controversial video on social media last week, claiming that women are "eliminating male masculinity" and asking them to focus on "breeding, cleaning and maintaining their families."

These remarks immediately attracted the criticism of Isco's wife and actress Sara Sálamo. Isco's wife wrote on social media:

Let me tell you what you should "worry", man...

I think FIFA should take action on such horrifying remarks now. Because these remarks not only violate the values of equality and respect defended by international football, but also represent a dangerous regression at a time when sports should be a role model rather than a shame.

When a player with global awareness suggests that women “should do housework” and blames our struggle to “eliminate masculinity”, it is not an opinion, but a stale, harmful and deeply rooted machismo. FIFA must punish this severely. The attitude must be firm. The position must be clear.

Because the true commitment to equality is not written on placards or recorded in advertisements: it is reflected in decision-making, sanctions and the bottom line. And this incident requires such action.

To this day, in the present day in 2025, we have to continue to defend the right of women to pursue the same goals, careers and dreams as men. This is not only infuriating, but also exhausting.

But we are still here. Continue to fight. For ourselves, for our daughters...and for our sons. Because they deserve to grow in an environment where they see the sport — and the world — take equality and justice seriously.
