How to maintain cross stitch

First of all, from the perspective of embroidery, we must keep our hands clean before embroidery, and wash our hands frequently to prevent the embroidery cloth and embroidery thread from getting oil stained on our hands. If you use a cross-stitch cloth hoop or a stretcher, you must take off the embroidery after each embroidery to avoid dust. Moreover, when using embroidery thread, it is best to keep the length of 50 cm, which can prevent knotting or pilling. After each embroidery, store it in a sealed bag to prevent contamination.

Then, for the finished products that have been embroidered, you can use neutral detergent to clean them, soak them directly and rinse them. Do not rub them or wash them with soap. It is best to use a steam iron to iron after washing. When ironing, a piece of cloth is laid on the table. The cross-stitch pattern is the embroidered side, with the back facing up. If the above can be separated by a layer of light-colored fabric, the effect is better. Be careful not to adjust the temperature too high to prevent the fabric from being ironed out. After hot, frame it or clip it to a flat place. It is best to frame it, not get damp or exposed to the sun.

How to wash printed cross stitch

The cleaning method of printing cross stitch is the same as that of ordinary cross stitch. The printed pattern on it is printed with water-soluble materials, so it is very easy to clean. Printed cross stitches should be cleaned before cleaning our hands to avoid staining the cross stitches. When cleaning, just wash it with water, not dry cleaning. Use cold or warm water with neutral detergent, then soak the printed cross stitch in water for a few minutes. Do not rub or squeeze when cleaning, rinse directly until the color of the printed pattern disappears, and then rinse it with clean water.

In addition, it is important to note that printing cross stitch is toxic because it contains formaldehyde. To print the pattern on the cross stitch cloth, various pigments need to be blended and fixed to the fabric with formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is easily dissolved in water, so when the fabric encounters water, the formaldehyde dissolves, and the pigment also dissolves in water. After rinsing it with clean water, the color will not be visible. Due to the particularity of printed cross stitch, it is not recommended to contact pregnant women, breastfeeding women and children.

How to wash the embroidered cross stitch

Prepare a larger basin, but it depends on the size of the cross stitch. Put the cross stitch into the basin, pour water, and leave it over the cross stitch. In addition, add neutral detergent (laundry detergent, softener or shower gel) to the warm water in the basin, soak the embroidery for a few minutes. If the color does not fall, you can soak it for a few more minutes and rinse it carefully, but do not rub or squeeze it. If the stain falls off, repeat the process immediately until the color of the water becomes clear.

After the cleaning work is completed, you can take the work out of the water and place it on a clean, white thick towel, then roll it up and press it to remove the excess water, spread it out and lay it flat, and put it in a ventilated place for a few hours. Then iron it when it is half wet, but iron it from the back.

When ironing, lay a piece of cloth on the table, and the cross-stitch fabric is reversed, with the back facing up. It is best to place a layer of white fabric on it to iron it to avoid ironing. In addition, be careful not to adjust the temperature to prevent the fabric from being damaged.

How to wash the cross-stitch water-soluble pen

Soak the embroidery directly in room temperature water. The water-soluble pen will automatically remove it after it encounters water. When cleaning the handwriting of the water-soluble pen, be careful not to add any daily chemical detergents such as laundry detergent, laundry detergent, soap, etc. If added, the handwriting will undergo chemical reaction and discoloration, and the traces cannot be quickly eliminated. Moreover, after a chemical reaction occurs, the handwriting is difficult to eliminate. If this happens, if the extended soaking in clean water for a long time does not effectively eliminate the traces, you can try adding neutral detergent to scrub it to make the traces dilute or disappear; if it has not been removed, you can try soaking in alcohol or white vinegar until the next day before cleaning.

Because cross stitches require a long time to make, whether the embroidery can be kept clean and tidy will directly affect the removal of the handwriting. Therefore, when embroidering embroidery, you must keep your hands clean, and try to avoid any stains such as sweat stains, tea stains and other stains that stain the embroidery cloth, otherwise it will be difficult to clean. On the same embroidery, avoid using water-soluble pens of different colors to overlap the line marks. Do not use water-soluble pens from different manufacturers on the same embroidery, and try to avoid the embroidery being exposed to the sun.
