Taiwan IP national team LOT (License on Transfer) Industry Alliance was officially established today. More than 20 manufacturers including Taiwan Power have expressed their wish to join the alliance. The first wave is expected to gather more than 150,000 effective patents to fight against the threat of patent cockroaches.

Wang Huangyu, the legal director and executive director of the Technical Transfer and Law Center of the Institute of Technology, today established a reporter at the LOT Industry Alliance, said that the non-implementation patent entity (NPE) commonly known as "proprietary cockroaches" is to not produce, develop, or provide goods or services. The business model only collects patents, and then charges high-priced funds from manufacturers, seriously distorting the patent system.

Wang Huangyu said that the establishment of the LOT Industry Alliance will announce to the international patent cockroach that in the future, it will take advantage of unfair means of obtaining profits from Taiwanese manufacturers, and will face a group of professional experienced teams, which will pay higher prices, as well as high risks of patent withdrawal and ineffective development. In addition, the Alliance will also go abroad to fight for Taiwan's industries under the name of "shipping team".

Liao Chengwei, Director of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, attended the reporters' meeting of the founding of the LOT Industry Alliance. He said that patent itself is to encourage innovation. Taiwanese manufacturers work hard to develop and file complaints all day long, which is unfair to manufacturers. In addition to being busy with business, manufacturers should also divide manpower to interfere without any interference in this kind of industry. The LOT Industry Alliance was established, and it is a good thing for manufacturers to fight wars.

Liao Chengwei said that a few years ago, China's Internet Capital Factory wanted to ask for rights from Taiwanese companies, but the Taiwanese manufacturer escaped without paying rights, which was a beautiful battle. Taiwan has strong scientific and technological research and development energy. The LOT Industry Alliance was established to combine the intelligent property rights of manufacturers, and the platforms will share the same friendship and mutual respect.

Xu Jieli, executive director of the National Industrial Conference of the Republic of China and vice chairman of the Taiwan District Electrical and Electronic Industry Association, said that patents should be an encouragement of continuous invention and innovation, and should not be used as a tool for attack. As Taiwan manufacturers' international competition is becoming stronger and stronger, they may face more patent cockroach interference, and the alliance allows manufacturers to share their profits in order to obtain better protection.

Wang Yu said that 20 manufacturers expressed their intention to join the alliance, including Taiwan Power. The first wave is expected to gather more than 150,000 effective patents, covering more than 60 countries around the world, and the technology sector covers semiconductors, printed circuit boards, servers, optics, wireless communications and connectors, etc.
