Natural A is still good? Professor Analyzing the Myth of Vitamins "Natural vs. Synthesis"

On August 5, 2018, a reader, Mr. Luo, discussed an article with me on his face. He said: "It is in line with my long-term doubts. I would like to ask the professor to review it to see the correctness of the content. If there is any need to add explanations, I would like to benefit everyone and have a clear explanation."

The article provided by Mr.

Mr. Luo is "all-natural vitamins, minerals vs artificial synthetic vitamins, minerals." It explains the difference between "natural vitamins" and "synthetic vitamins", and points out many disadvantages and disadvantages of "synthetic vitamins", such as (1) taking synthetic vitamins for a large amount of long-term use may be dangerous, (2) synthetic vitamins may contain artificial pigments, preservatives, sugar, coal coke or other additives, and (3) synthetic vitamins are less likely to be absorbed.

Taiwan's "Environmental Information Center" published an article titled "The Esophageal Administration has not defined that the food is natural." Its first paragraph is: Pre-packaged food products in the United States are listed as "natural", but they are full of artificial additives and chemical ingredients, and this phenomenon comes from the fact that the United States does not define what "natural" is at all.

is right, the FDA does not define "natural". Therefore, since you don’t know what it means to be “natural”, of course, it is impossible to investigate whether a certain product with a natural list is fake.

Scientifically, it is also impossible to define what is "natural". Of course, the nutrients extracted from animals or plants must be used in the process of extraction, purification, and preparation of the agent. So, although the source is natural, the final product may have become far away from natural.

Strictly speaking, all natural vitamins exist only in food (vitamin D comes from the sun), and once they are extracted, they are no longer natural. So, if you believe that "synthetic" is not good, then you can only get vitamins from food and sunlight.

The good news is that for most people (99%), food and sunshine can provide enough vitamins.

The bad news is that for these people who are the same, additional supplements of vitamins (in the jar) may increase the mortality rate (please read the article at the end

So, what you really need to ask is not "natural good or synthetic good", but "whether it needs to be supplemented".

Not many people really need to supplement their vitamins, only about 1%. For example:

People who eat vegetarians (either eat eggs) need to supplement their vitamins B12. Although most vitamin B12 supplements on the market are synthetic, they are still effective (Please check out TYPES OF VITAMIN B12 for the types of vitamin B12).

Also, people living in areas with insufficient sunlight, especially children who are developing, need to take vitamin D supplements (of course, it is synthesized and effective).

means that as long as it is "need to eat before eating" (rather than supplementing it extra), the synthetic vitamin is both safe and effective.

The reason why I dare to say this is that over the past 100 years, research on vitamins has accumulated more than 300,000 articles, and most of the research here is made on synthetic vitamins (it is not easy to obtain natural vitamins).

If there is anything wrong with synthetic vitamins, it is only when they are used.

Unfortunately, one-third of people in the United States use vitamins, and I guess Taiwan is not much better.
