The Food and Drug Administration stated that tea leaves should not be added with pigments, but when making tea drinks, legal food additive colorants must be used according to the current "food additive usage range and limited quantity and specification standards". The Food and Drug Administration recommends that when buying Thai milk tea leaves and imported tea bags, you should choose a trustworthy merchant. In addition, when food is imported to Taiwan, border inspection personnel will also conduct sampling of the products and test items such as agricultural drug retention, food additives (coloring agents), etc., to confirm that the products comply with the relevant provisions of Taiwan’s Food Safety Hygiene Management Law.
